Since 2013, millions of pounds have been and will continue to be provided to support and develop P.E. in primary schools across the country. The P.E. and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

Most schools receive £8,000 and an additional payment of £5 per pupil. As such, for the academic year 2016/17, Low Moor C.E. expects to receive £9,755.  This grant will fund a programme of activities that will enable us to further enhance the quality of the PE and sport opportunities we offer our pupils. Full details can be found here: Action Plan 2016-17 PE.

Details of how Low Moor C.E. Primary School spent the 2014/15 and 2015/16 PE and Sport allocation and the impact/evaluation can be here: Action plan – PE- 2014-15 and Action plan – PE – 2015-16.

The priorities have been formulated by identifying the school’s current strengths and areas for development in relation to Physical Education, healthy active lifestyles and club & competitive school sport. We are continuing to work with Sports UK in order to access the expertise and appropriate support for the school.

Low Moor C.E. Primary School uses all our P.E. and Sport Premium, plus additional school funds, to pay for the use of a Sports UK coach every Thursday and Friday. Excellent learning opportunities are provided for the children as well as opportunities for teachers to improve their own expertise and skills in this curriculum area. Low cost before and after school clubs are provided by Sports UK on Thursdays and Fridays.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mr O’Hanlon, P.E. Co-ordinator.
